Columbus Short turned in a pretty remarkable performance in last year's Cadillac Records, playing the mercurial early Motown great Little Walter. But apparently he's just not quite ready to take on that serious acting career, as evidenced by his considering a return for Stomp the Yard 2, a movie is that is definitely happening now that Rob Hardy has been hired to direct it.
Hardy was an executive producer on the first Stomp the Yard, and has his own scattered directing career behind him, though I have no idea how he plans to handle the street dancing that's pretty much the entire reason for this movie to exist.
THR writes that shooting is scheduled to begin in Atlanta next month, even though Short's deal has yet to be signed. Maybe that's why they don't have plot details either?
