Straw Dogs Trailer Ratchets The Tension To Eleven
It's impossible to know your own limitations and abilities until everything you care about is threatened or put in danger. Only when in a fight do you know what's important and what can be left behind. In Straw Dogs, David Sumner, played by James Marsden, is going to find his line and cross it.
Yahoo! has posted the first trailer for Rod Lurie's remake of the Sam Peckinpah classic, and it's just about as intense as one would expect given the material. In the film, David and his beautiful wife (Kate Bosworth) move to her hometown in the deep south to build their life together. Trouble begins, however, when some of the locals begin to take a shine to David's bride and he is forced to shed his nice-guy exterior in order to fight for their lives.

While I still don't really understand why they felt the need to remake Straw Dogs (if you haven't seen the original, make it a part of your weekend plans), but I really enjoyed this trailer as a piece of advertising for a stand-alone film. It explains the story, messes around with the timeline, establishes the villain and even pushes the limits of the green band. If throwing a pot of boiling water in somebody's face and nailing their hand to a wall is acceptable for all audiences, I'm curious about what they have in store for the red band.
