Summit Entertainment is apparently putting all its stock in vampires. The studio that unleashed Twilight upon the world is now trying to pick up the screenplay Elevator Men, a darker look at the kind of vampires who don't sparkle in sunlight and won't try to resist chomping on your neck.

The script was written by former DreamWorks executive Marc Haimes, who told THR what he was trying to do with the film. "It's a reaction to all of these stories now -- TV shows and movies -- that play this kind of romantic, fantastical, sexy aspect of getting involved with monsters. This is the dark, sinister version of what really happens when you decide you're going to get close to really bad things."

Summit is doing something really smart here: catering to those of us who really wanted to see Bella get eaten while watching Twilight. It's not exactly what we were asking for, but hey, close enough.
