Ideally when you're at a festival like Sundance you have the time to write up an erudite, insightful review of everything you see, minutes after you've stepped out of the screening room and in plenty of time to get to the next movie. But of course, this almost never works out, either because your brain is fried from too much caffeine, the shuttle bus took you the wrong direction and you're running late ,or just don't feel like typing another word, dammit.

That's where video blogs come in, a chance to spew out what you're thinking when you don't have time to write it down. As a bonus we get to bring you a look at the sights and sounds of Park City during the festival, whether it's the snowcapped mountains in the distances or the totally dingy carpet outside the screening room. I'll be teaming up with Matt Patches-- freelancer extraordinaire covering the festival-- to record video blogs hopefully daily, updating you on the movies we've seen, the celebrities we've spotted, the parties we've attended, and-- if we're lucky!-- the free swag we've picked up.

We kicked things off before we even touched ground in Utah, recapping the two movies we watched on screeners on the flight over-- Joe Swanberg's Uncle Kent and Gregg Araki's Kaboom. Check out our Sundance: Day Zero blog-- from the air-- and keep checking back for more updates that are actually recorded in Park City.
