Sunset Stripper Back On Big Screen![]()
Matthew Perry is still looking to become “that one male ‘Friend’ who finds some success.” After The Whole Nine Yards he seemed to be on his way but then The Whole Ten Yards got released and that was the end of that. Recently he has been involved with cancelled television shows and inspirational TV movies, but not much on the film side of things. Currently he’s filming the comedy The Laws of Motion in Connecticut.
Cinematical says that in addition to Matthew Perry, this new comedy will star Hilary Swank, Ben Foster, and Ginnifer Goodwin. Perry plays a man who dislikes his job, his life, and has problems with his brother (Foster) and sister (Goodwin.) Swank plays his perfect neighbor. The cast doesn’t wreak of comedy powerhouses; except for Perry they are primarily known for drama. The writer and director are relative unknowns, Elyse Friedmand and Craig Lucas. Perry is a legitimately funny guy, but he’s always struck me as television funny, not really big screen funny. It seems like sitcoms or witty dramas are where he belongs. Foster was fantastic in Alpha Dog but I’m not sure his meth addict psycho will transfer. Swank has always been overpraised in my book, but I’m glad she doesn’t have another tiresome message picture. Goodwin is nice to look at and does pretty well in whatever she’s in. It’s hard to say how this will end up. I’m putting my money on miniscule release and DVD obscurity. |
