Steve Carell must have one busy accountant.

According to Hollywood Reporter, his new film Little Miss Sunshine has been scooped up by Fox Searchlight at Sundance film festival. With a winning bid of $10 million, it’s the first indie film of the festival to land a major distribution deal. The standing ovation it received after its debut probably didn’t hurt matters much.

Little Miss Sunshine, also starring Toni Collette and Greg Kinnear, is about the dysfunctional Hoover family. RT reports that it centers around a seven year old aspiring beauty queen, a struggling father who dabbles in motivational speaking, and a mom who has to bring her brother home after a botched suicide attempt.

Fox Searchlight’s Peter Rice explains: "'This is what Sundance is all about: To find this perfect gem of a movie that can be experienced with an enraptured audience. We look forward to sharing it with the world." The film will hit theaters this summer.

Sundance sounds like it has a great collection of movies this year. I never thought I'd hear myself say these words, but I really wish I were in Utah right now.
