SuperSuit Seen!![]()
What shocking changes has Bryan Singer made to the classic Superman suit? None, apparently. USA Today , damn their colorful pages, has the first photo of Brandon Routh in all his red, yellow, and blue glory. I’m not a big fan of Superman’s tights anyways, so I’ll skip that. However, this current version looks a little better than earlier renditions. The logo looks a little crisper and the utility belt is definitely an improvement (The logo has been added to the belt as well). I think the biggest change is that the colors are all a bit darker, which is a welcome change.
Forgetting the suit for a moment, the real key to Superman Returns is the acting of Brandon Routh. Unlike Scot Gwin, I do not watch daytime soap operas. Most Superman fans cringed at the idea of Routh, and if Cinema Blend was around when the late Christopher Reeve was hired, I’m sure we would have ranted as well. Singer, as much as I hate his existence for ruining X-Men 3, has a knack for casting. I’m having faith in Singer to pull this off. I just hope he doesn’t leave Superman 6 in the lurch when he decides to leave to direct “Aquaman” or something. Superman Returns will be in theatres Summer 2006. |
