Apparently it’s ‘Battlestar Galactica’ day here at Cinema Blend. I’m all for it. The show is flat out brilliant (Read our recap of BSG's brilliant season finale here). Not just brilliant science fiction, but flat out brilliant television. Hollywood has taken notice, and they’re snatching up BSG stars for other projects as fast as they can get them. The latest ‘Battlestar Galactica’ alum who could soon make her mark on the movie industry is blonde Cylon bombshell Tricia Helfer. JoBlo says Warner Brother may be working on resurrecting Supergirl, and Helfer is one of the contenders for her cape.

Right now, this is just in the early stages, if it’s even true. JoBlo says the WB has commissioned a script for a “blonder and breastier Supercharacter”, and they’re hitting the phones looking for leading ladies. With Marvel already throwing every superhero it has at screens, it was only a matter of time before DC got around to doing the same. This fits with the rumors that Warners is also pushing a Justice League movie. It’s a sure sign that they see the kind of money all those minor Marvel characters like Ghost Rider are making and they want in on the easy money.

Helfer, is certainly hot enough and talented enough to play the part. However, as JoBlo rightly points out, she’s kind of old for a Supergirl. She’s more of a Superwoman. Nobody looks at Cylon number six and thinks girl. She’s all woman. But it’s Supergirl. If they want to make her a Superwoman, I doubt anyone will care; particularly if that Superwoman is played by the luscious Tricia Helfer.
