Superhero Movie Trailer

By Josh Tyler: 2008-02-01 01:37:50
Superhero Movie Trailer Judging from last weekend’s box office, America still loves parody movies. Bad ones anyway since Walk Hard flopped a few weeks ago while Meet the Spartans was number one this week. I’m not sure yet exactly which category to put Superhero Movie in yet, though I am a little surprised it took them this long to get around to making fun of Spider-Man. It’s too easy and normally the Scary Movie guys are quick to jump on easy.

There’s some hope that this one might be a little better than the Date Movies of the world though. From the new trailer, which I’ve embedded below, it looks like they’ve decided to take a page from Walk Hard and parody something specifically, rather than simply ripping the best scenes out of all the movies last year and throwing them against the wall to see which ones they can make suck. In this case, the trailer makes it look like they’re doing a blow by blow mockery of the first Spider-Man. Not exactly timely, but maybe it’ll be funnier than the scattershot approach of the last couple of limp Scary Movie entries. Besides, it has Brent Spiner. That already makes it better.
