I love the Saturn Awards. Not just because unlike the Oscars they have the sense to nominate brilliant movies like Children of Men, The Prestige, and The Fountain for awards, but also because they make their nominations available in a handy dandy MS Word format, thus saving me tedious hours of rooting through a press release just to figure out who won.
The 33rd Annual Saturn Awards are over, and winners we do indeed have. Bryan Singer’s wonderful and lyrical homage to the Man of Steel, Superman Returns, was the biggest winner in the Saturn’s film categories. Of it’s 10 nominations it came away with 5 wins including Best Director for Bryan Singer and acting honors for Brandon Routh. On the TV side, it’s ‘Heroes’ that came away big.
