Bryan Singer took a little flack from religious extremists for Superman Returns, when it seemed that he was trying to make Superman look like… well… Jesus. For the next movie though, it looks like he may toss aside all pretense of subtlety and simply treat Superman like God. Well think about it, with those kinds of powers he almost is.
The rumor of Supes godhood originated here, where Thomas Tull, the founder of Superman producing company Legendary Pictures talks about the company’s upcoming projects. They say Tull hopes to invoke more of the image of "an angry god" in the next Superman movie, which doesn’t seem like much of a quote, but sounds pretty damn cool. It’s also somewhat in keeping with where Singer was taking the last movie, except if Superman’s pissed, expect more of the superhuman action scenes fanboys craved from the last movie and never got.
Let’s just hope we’re not talking about going the route of Superman III. The last time Superman got pissed he split himself in half and flew around with Richard Pryor.

This sounds great. This I cannot wait any longer for ...
It's even quoted by Batman in Superman/Batman #3, Batman thinks, "It is a remarkable dichotomy. In many ways, Clark is the most human of us all. Then...he shoots fire from the skies, and it is difficult not to think of him as a god. And how fortunate we all are that it does not occur to him."
It's gonna be killer, Singer will produce, he's smart enough not to stuff it up twice.

I have a hard time believing that there will ever be a sequel to that movie. Meh. God must be angry now.
