Pierce Brosnan's not James Bond anymore, and Susuan Sarandon's latest movie, Speed Racer, tanked, but that doesn't mean they're not stone cold foxes we want to watch on the big screen. So be glad that they'll be teaming up in the drama The Greatest, about a family still mourning the loss of their teenage son when their daughter starts making the grieving process even more difficult. Variety writes that the movie will be the directing debut of Shana Feste, who also wrote the screenplay.

Hey, what's not to like? First-time directors can always use a big cast to get people to pay attention to their movies-- The Greatest hasn't been picked up by a distributor yet-- and the fact that it's a smaller movie might mean good parts for Brosnan and Sarandon, who have started to suffer to the whole “no good roles for old people” stigma in Hollywood. Of course, many, many actors have gone over to independent movies for good roles and come off with disasters that no one ever sees or speak of again.

Sarandon and Brosnan are both making their stabs at summer hits this year, and we can hope that Mamma Mia! can succeed where Speed Racer failed. But something tells me that their roles in this one might be more interesting, if involving fewer colors and dance numbers. Hey, you always have trade-offs!
