The lure of money and Wall Street has reached even Susan Sarandon. The actress is in negotiations to join the cast of Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps, playing the mother of Shia LaBeouf's young trader character, who gets wooed and presumably corrupted by Michael Douglas' immortal Gordon Gekko character.

Variety doesn't say how big Sarandon's role will be, but given that most of the scenes will probably take place in the office and on the trading floor, I can't imagine it would be too large. It would be awesome to see Sarandon as some kind of female equivalent of Gordon Gekko, or at least not just somebody's mom. But Wall Street the place and Wall Street the movie have always been a guy thing, so she'll likely be settling for the sidelines.
