Sylvester Stallone is working hard on The Expendables but hard enough to sweat this much? The newest image from Empire Online features Stallone standing triumphant amidst a pile of dead bodies looking like he wants to say something along the lines of ‘You want a piece of me?’ Is this the perfect picture for a caption contest, or what?

The article also features two quotes from Stallone, one concerning the film’s title and the second it’s aim. “It's from Rambo 2. The girl I'm falling in love with says, ‘Why do you do what you do?’ I say, ‘I'm expendable.’ She says, ‘What does that mean?’ I say, ‘It's like someone invites you to a party and you don't show up. It doesn't really matter.’”

Stallone explained that even though CGI technology is extremely advanced, he wanted to create The Expendables in a way that would take us back to the action movies of the 80s and 90s, more one-on-one combat and less special effects. He also noted, “It's also a story that isn't super-gigantic; it's almost a believable story. And the thing was to find certain personalities that never would have worked together normally and put them all together.”



After checking out a picture of Stallone’s character post-battle with six bad guys dead at his feet I don’t get the feeling that The Expendables is going to be a believable film, but I’ll take Sly’s word for it.
