Sylvester Stallone Might Be Done With Rambo After All![]()
As recently as November Sylvester Stallone was making big promises about plans for a fifth Rambo movie, sending the mercenary across the border to a town where women are frequently killed or kidnapped. Even though Stallone has The Expendables coming out later this summer, which looks like basically what would happen if you let 10 Rambos team up, he still seemed to think there was some juice in the old warrior.
But apparently this old dog really is capable of learning new tricks, or at least giving up on old ones. Talking to Empire Magazine, Stallone admitted, "I think Rambo's pretty well done. I don't think there'll be any more." His reasoning is a little fuzzy, but it seems that, while Rocky's fourth movie was more like a triumphant full circle thing, Rambo and his guns would seem a little, er, violent. "For Rambo to go on another adventure might be, I think, misinterpreted as a mercenary gesture and not necessary. I don’t want that to happen." Of course this all sounds a little odd as Stallone goes on the press tour for The Expendables, a movie entirely about mercenary gestures. But we all should have given up long ago trying to predict Stallone's next career move. If Rocky and Rambo somehow team up in the near future, you're not allowed to be surprised. |
