Before she was an Oscar nominee and acting under the direction of David Fincher, Taraji P. Henson was in a Tyler Perry movie-- his most recent one, actually, The Family That Preys. And apparently Henson likes sticking with what she knows; she'll star in Perry's new film I Can Do Bad All By Myself, and is the central figure of the movie's new poster, which has just been released.
Though I Can Do Bad features Perry's signature grandma character Madea, the buxom old lady is nowhere to be found on the poster. Instead it's an elegant image of Henson's face within a yellow rose, the kind of image that suggests a drama or at least a psychological thriller. What kind of movie is this going to be? Are the people who go to Perry's movies just to see Madea whip people with her purse going to be totally confused? Not sure what they're going for with this poster at all, but at least it's nice to look at. Check out the whole thing below:
