More gossip on the progress of Quentin Tarantino’s new movie Inglorious Bastards. Variety has added Leonardo DiCaprio to previously rumored Brad Pitt as a possible contender for a part in his film.
Though they leave no clue as to where they got their information, they claim Tarantino wants Leo to play the part of a character named Hans Landa. Previously rumored Brad Pitt is supposedly in contention to play a guy named Aldo Raine. Once I finally read the script which has been floating around the internet all week, I guess I’ll know what those names mean.
While I think DiCaprio and Pitt are great actors, does anyone else think they seem a little strange for a Tarantino movie? Normally his stars are people has-beens looking for a revival like John Travolta, or mid-level, outside the Hollywood center stars like Samuel L. Jackson or Uma Thurman. It just doesn’t seem like QT to recruit his cast off the A-list.
