When it comes to the movie franchise, the most recognizable part of Resident Evil is star Milla Jovovich. It has now been almost exactly a decade since the actress started playing Alice and now it's the role that she known for worldwide. If they were to ever make a Resident Evil movie without her, it wouldn't even be considered a Resident Evil movie. Because she's the face of the franchise, though, it makes it even more curious that she's present in name only on the first teaser poster for Resident Evil: Retribution.

Though the film isn't actually set to come out until September, Screen Gems is keeping the marketing campaign going following the teaser trailer that was released earlier this month with a brand new one-sheet and banner. But while the second item has Jovovich in her familiar position - bracing herself and firing off a gun - the poster is more focused on showing off the decimated world than the action heroine. Written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, Resident Evil: Retribution not only brings back Jovovich, but also familiar faces like Sienna Guillory, Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Isaacs, Oded Fehr, Shawn Roberts, Boris Kodjoe, and Colin Salmon. The movie sees Alice continuing her fight against the big bad Umbrella Corporation and their armies of the undead.
