Teaser Poster For Up

By Katey Rich: 2008-10-14 17:53:06
Teaser Poster For Up The stereotype about kid's movies is that they use bright, shiny colors to distract the rugrats, and throw entertainment in as a side bonus. But Pixar has never much gone for the candy-colored worlds-- remember how gray Wall-E was? Or how the prettiest thing in Ratatouille was a crusty baguette?

But in Up, Pixar's next project, they make be breaking the mold-- at least from what we can tell in the teaser art. The first teaser poster for the movie, which will be released in May of next year, has been posted at Yahoo! Movies, and it features the prettiest and most colorful balloon you've ever seen.

We see the house that belongs to Carl, the main character who is an old man who eventually decides to go on adventure. The only way to do that, apparently, is to tie your house to a bunch of balloons, which will send you floating through the air with the greatest of ease. The image is striking-- pretty and witty, with a strong hint of the adventure and whimsy that will be part of the movie's package. It's pretty much impossible not to look forward to a Pixar movie at this point, and this one looks just as inventive and satisfying as the ones that came before it. Go to Yahoo! Movies for the full-size version of what you see above.
