Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles TV Spot Delivers Our First Look At Splinter

Thanks to the MTV Movie Awards, we're seeing a lot of big summer films drop a whole bunch of new footage and clips, from The Fault in Our Stars to X-Men: Days of Future Past, but now it's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' time in the spotlight. While the first teaser trailer only arrived online a couple of weeks ago, already IGN has debuted a brand new TV spot from the blockbuster, featuring quite a bit of new footage.

Being only 30 seconds long, the clip goes by really fast, but if you're willing to watch it a couple of times and keep your finger on the pause button you'll notice quite a few new bits. First up:

While we don't actually get to see his face, this is actually our first look at the new version of Splinter, the humanoid rat who trains the titular turtles in the art of battle. Wearing the performance capture suit on set was Seinfeld's Danny Woodburn, but in the movie he will be voiced by Tony Shalhoub (who I believe we hear narrating the spot). But Splinter isn't alone in his quick scene...

In case you're not up on your TMNT mythology, clearly standing in the background of this shot is Shredder, the Samurai armor-waring central villain of the film who will be played William Fichtner. Like the case with Splinter, this isn't exactly the greatest "first look," but it is something.

But let's not forget the real stars of the show. While the debut trailer gave us a good look at both Leonardo and Michaelangelo, here we get to see the other half of the team in action. Above we have Raphael kicking some ass...

And here we have a shot of Donatello from behind, the character wearing some kind of special tech strapped to his head and shell.

Last but not least, let's also not ignore Mr. Vernon Fenwick, played by Will Arnett. He got left out of the first trailer completely, so let's make sure he gets his moment here.

Are you excited for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Look for it in theaters August 8th.
