The hardworking guys over at Coming Soon have been digging through their Entertainment Weekly and found quotes from co-screenwriter Michael Ferris Terminator 4, a project which is surprisingly, not yet dead. I know, I'm shocked too. Isn't Arnie permanently a politician?
That doesn't seem to matter. Ferris says, "Terminator 3 kind of closed the book on Schwarzenegger, as did his gubernatorial career." They're moving on without him, and making the first Terminator movie without the original Terminator. Instead he says the movie will be about discovering the intricacies of Skynet, and figuring out what the postapolyptic future is like.
The Terminator isn't the only thing missing from Terminator 4 though. Last we heard T3 director Jonathan Mostow hadn't actually signed to helm, and James Cameron sure as hell isn't going to touch it. If it happens, T4 is still a long way off.

This might actually be for the best. T3 was pretty weak. Just as long as they don't pull a Halloween 3: Season of the Witch on the series, a new direction might be just what they need.
The first Terminator was great, it had a solid story line that was amazing, and Arnold actually did a great job playing the terminator in my opinon the best performance in all three. He actually looked and acted like a machine would and didnt hesitate to kill anyone who got in his way. The second terminator was great to, it had wonderfull effects a good follow up story line, all the acting was solid and again great effects. The third Terminator was to say the least a dissapointment to me. Mainly because of the very poor story it was awfull Most of the movie all 10 minuts of it was shot in a vechicle with arnold John and Kate they tried to add humor like when he puts on the star sunglasses and all of the little things he says through out the movie. Witch in my opinion was a big mistak i didnt know if i was watching a terminator movie or a comedy remake of the terminator. They could have done a much better job they should have kept Jim Cameron as the director he probably just looks at the film and shakes his head im suprised Arnold would actually have participated in that movie. Any way after saying that I think they should just let it alone NO TERMINATOR 4 The first two are GREAT movies the third one sucked and lets face it. Whats the first thing that ANYONE thiks of when they hear Terminator???? ... ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER... With out him With out Cameron its just gonna be another disaster LEAVE IT ALONE.
Terminator 4 will be the worst action film and partly because the films are being left in history but i still enjoy them even so Arnold Schwarznegger is good in all action movies like terminator and predator he is getting on as well and focusus on politics which i can understand but his not him at all, i think it's time for him to retire and not try to make a come-back in a fourth terminator. Today action films are two things fighting each other like alien versus predator or old weekend series programmes like starsky and hutch or the dukes of hazzard their the kind of movies to watch today. I think in terminator 2 the t-1000 was a bit stupid has it had no reel characteristics of a terminator so terminator 4 should never be.
Yeah Arnold is the one and only thing keeping that movie together, if he's out the movie better have a real good follow story or it may flop.
but if the next one sucks at least i can still enjoy the nacho cheese flovored popcorn at the theatre. makes any movie good.
so like The Terminator said "relaaax".
