The Avengers Assemble In New Promo Art
As a lifelong comic book and movie fan, there's precisely one moment that I'm looking forward to more than anything in Joss Whedon's The Avengers. It's the moment where the frame pans up and we see Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor and Captain America standing together in uniform ready to fight the monstrous evil that has put the world in peril. Until I see that I'll continue to think that this has all just been some sort of a crazy dream. Considering we haven't even gotten a real teaser trailer yet, however, it may still be a while until we actually get to see anything resembling that scene. Until then, we have this, courtesy of Bleeding Cool:
That image, which you can see full size over at the website, is promo art for an omnibus collection of comics set to be released by Marvel in preparation for next year's mega-blockbuster. Titled "Road to the Avengers," the characters shown (From left to right: Black Widow, Nick Fury, Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor, and Hawkeye) are all modeled after the actors that they them in the Marvel Studio films. The book will contain Marvel Cinematic Universe continuity mini-series including "I Am Iron Man," "Iron Man Security Measures," "Iron Man 2: Public Identity," "Iron Man 2: Agents Of SHIELD" and "Captain America: First Vengeance." The artwork looks a hell of a lot better than the promo poster that was revealed back in June at the 2011 Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas. This may not be the final cover of the art (as you can see from the bottom right-hand corner), but it's still pretty awesome. |
