The sci-fi movies have to be honored in some way, and at least the Saturns make room for two other top prizes, Best Fantasy Film and Best Horror Film, which went to The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Hellboy II: The Golden Army, respectively. Now I have no idea how Hellboy II qualifies as a horror film, but maybe that's more of a statement about the pitiful state of America horror than anything else.
THR has the full list of winners, which has some other expected winners (Robert Downey Jr. for Iron Man, Heath Ledger for The Dark Knight) and some huh? moments too (Angelina Jolie for Changeling? Jaden Smith as Best Younger Actor for The Day the Earth Stood Still?) Check it all out and take one more moment to remember the hits of last year before you dutifully line up to see Transformers 2.
