The Diaz/Carrey Reunion Is Over![]()
A few weeks ago we brought you the exciting news that Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz were about to reunite on film for the first time since The Mask in the movie A Little Game Without Consequences. Well, their reunion was a short one.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Jim and Cameron have departed the project, and the film's director Gabriele Muccino has left right along with them. Why? Script problems are cited as the reason, apparently Muccino, Carrey, and Diaz were led to believe the movie would be something it is not. Apparently the trio wanted to make a darker, less commercial (in other words good) movie than Focus Features did. Focus was more interested in making money than in having their names involved, and so everyone has gone their separate way. Focus says they'll make the movie without them, but who cares now? Not only have they lost the cache of a Carrey, Diaz reunion but they're watering down the movie and probably chopping it off at the knees in the process. |
