The first stage is loss of speech. The second stage is disorientation. The third stage is fatal. It’s M. Night Shyamalan’s The Happening, and it has a brand new trailer up in exclusively crummy low-res over at MSN.
This latest trailer seems to be trying to sell it primarily as a standard horror movie, except with Ferris Bueller’s buddy Cameron totally taking charge in it. There’s a lot of creepy music, and a shot of Mark Wahlberg screaming for people to “bar the windows and the doors.” This trailer really feels like a Shyamalan movie, which is either a good thing or a bad thing, depending on which Night movie it actually resembles.
Interestingly, it looks like The Happening may end up getting an R-rating. According to Entertainment Weekly it’s not because M. Night actually wanted to get all edgy, but because Fox pushed him for it. Whether that’s good or bad, also remains to be seen. It can’t possibly be worse than Lady in the Water can it?

"The Happening"? LOL!! When I first saw this I thought this was a retread of the 70's show "What's Happening". Oh well.
