All aboard the Hogwarts Express! This actual locomotive doesn’t really take you from London to Hogsmeade. In fact, it doesn’t look like it’ll take you anywhere at all, but it does makes for a very authentic looking prop at Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The Hogwarts Express arrives at Hogsmeade Station as The Wizarding World of Harry Potter continues to develop at Universal Orlando Resort. As guests enter Hogsmeade, they will be greeted by the iconic, smoke-billowing steam engine, made famous in the Harry Potter books and films for transporting students to a world of magic and wonder. Opening in Spring 2010 only at Universal Orlando Resort, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will feature multiple themed attractions, shops and a restaurant.

So the train is more of a welcoming committee rather than a means of transportation, but still a beautiful addition to the park. It’ll be especially striking when James and Oliver Phelps, Bonnie Wright and Tom Felton arrive for the spring 2010 grand opening. Those are the folks confirmed to attend the momentous event, but Muggle.net expects the main players as well as J.K. Rowling to be on hand too.
