The Neverending Story Keeps Going And Going...![]()
I've complained before how they don't make children's adventure stories anymore like they did in the 80s, crammed with actually scary monsters, real life or death situations, and delightfully low-rent special effects. But seriously guys, the way to solve this problem is not to just remake movies that we all loved in the 80s and assume no one will know the difference.
THR is reporting that Warner Bros. has acquired the rights to the film, and both the Kennedy/Marshall company and Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way are looking into remaking it. It's still very, very early to get panicked here-- writers aren't even attached yet-- and the article notes that the new movie would capture more of the details form the original book. But still, aren't we allowed to have some moral outrage? Children of the 80s, we must protect our childhoods from CGI! |
