The Other Masterson

“Malcolm in the Middle” was pretty entertaining for about one episode, and since then has been a show I’ve staunchly flipped right past whenever I’m holding the remote. Fortunetly, this news report isn’t about the growth stunted, not-that-talented Frankie Muniz, but a lesser cast member who from what I can tell doesn’t stink like a rotting donkey corpse. Here’s our old bud Brian Cleveland with another tidbit:

"Malcolm in the Middle" is a decent show and, though not as good as his brother Danny of "That 70's Show" and victim of being placed in many crappy sub-plots, 24-year-old Christopher Masterson is talented. He's now been given the chance to take a break from the small screen to work on some small indie flicks.

Before now he's only had bit parts in movies like "Scary Movie 2" and "American History X" but he will star in the upcoming "Intellectual Property" and then "Waterborne". In the first, which he will also produce, Masterson will play a young inventor during the Cold War. In "Waterborne", he will play a laid back beach bum who doesn't worry that terrorists are targeting Los Angeles' water supply.

Masterson hasn't been able to show much range playing a consistenly angry son/brother in "MitM", but as far as I can tell none of these movies contain subplots focusing around stupid foreign ranchers. This can only be good for actors and viewers alike.

Brian

Thanks Brian. But if I’m picking Masterson’s to follow I think I’ll stick with Danny. Christopher looks like a bad Neil Patrick Harris clone.
