The Price Is Right![]()
The twenties have become a new time of extended adolescence. Many still live off their parents, and continue to camp out under their roof: even if they're 28. Sometimes a wake-up call is necessary.
According to Hollywood Reporter, Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) is directing a movie called The Bill From My Father for Warner Bros Pictures and Heyday Films. Loosely based on an upcoming memoir by Bernard Cooper, the movie is about a hard-working father who's fed up with his son's constant disappointments. After he quits his high paying job, the father takes a stand by handing him a bill for the expenses of his upbringing. How he ever came up with a number is beyond me, but something tells me the bill is higher than will ever be reimbursed. The story explores themes of expectations between parents and kids, and how they are hardly ever met. Bob Nelson is writing the screenplay, and he is teaming up next with director Alexander Payne for the anticipated film Nebraska. |
