The Signal Broadcasts A Trailer image
It seems like eons since I first saw The Signal during a midnight showing at this year’s SXSW Film Festival in Austin. It was the perfect time to see it, ensconced in the Alamo Drafthouse Lamar, bleary eyed after a long day of festival going, and knocking back questionable alcohol with my fellow festival goers. It was as if The Signal was pouring into our brains, and at any moment the guy sitting next to me might decide he’d like to bash in my brains.

The Signal is (loosely anyway) a commentary on the dangers modern dependence on electronic communication. One day the world’s televisions, radios, and telephones turn against it. All forms of communication are jammed by a strange, pulsating signal. Everyone is instantly out of touch. Worse, much worse, exposure to the signal drives people completely mad. Anyone subjected to it is instantly turned into a rampaging murderer. In the course of a few hours, the world has gone completely mad. Murder is the new world order and there’s absolutely no one you can trust.

Months and months after I first saw it, The Signal finally has a release date on October 26th, and movie trailer. The trailer popped up online in high-def, and though I like it I wonder if it’s going to make any damn sense to someone who hasn’t already seen it. Check out the trailer in multiple formats here or watch it in crappy format by clicking play on the embed below:
