The Watchmen War Is Over!![]()
It's over! Fox and Warner Bros. have settled on the Watchmen case, making room for the film to be released on time on March 6 as planned. The Hollywood Reporter says the terms of the settlement won't be released, but we know WB is paying Fox a huge chunk of money, as well as a percentage of the box office receipts.
Umm... you mean they're doing what we said they should have been doing months ago? It's hard to do anything but to rejoice that this stupid, stupid conflict is finally over, but you have to be a little resentful at all the wasted time, not to mention legal fees. The two studios will issue a joint statement tomorrow announcing the settlement, presumably shaking hands, making nice, and going back home to keep their fingers crossed that Watchmen makes enough money to make this whole mess worth it. |
