Apparently while I was off yesterday suffering through Al Pacino’s 88 Minutes for my review, the plot of X-Files 2 popped up online for about five minutes. It’s now gone missing from a lot of the places which originally ran it, which sort of lends credence to the notion that it might have been the real deal… but then on the other hand that wiley Chris Carter has pulled this bit on us before.

The plot synopsis appears to have popped up online courtesy of the summary being put on the back of the novelization version of the movie X-Files: I Want to Believe, being written by Max Allan Collins. It’s still online over here. I’m not going to ruffle Fox’s feathers by spoiling the thing, but in general it seems to involve religious visions, medical experiments, as well as Mulder and Scully totally making out. Well not that last bit, I made that up because I know how much you all want to see them getting it on. Not me, I think David Duchovny can do better.
