There's Magic And Four-Letter Words Galore In Movie 43 Red Band TV Spot

Lately, when a poster boasts a sprawling list of names of notable screen presences, it's for some schmaltzy ensemble rom-com, stuffed with love-centered vignettes linked by a common holiday or location. While Movie 43 has a long list of stars on board, and plenty of premises within, there's nothing sweet or sentimental in this demented comedy omnibus. Instead, this bizarre brain child of producers Peter Farrelly and Charles Wessler is so stuffed with the crude, lewd and downright offensive that it's sure to make your head spin.

While its last red band theatrical trailer relished in the obscene—focusing specifically on what Kristen Bell's character has going on below her panty line—the green band trailer was forced to play it coy, awkwardly cutting around and humor deemed to raunchy or wild for broad audiences. Now the marketing team has a unique hurdle in trying to sell a hard-R comedy on American TV, where cursing, nudity and crudity are expressively forbidden. So you get the spot below, that's too hot for TV, and NFSW obviously, but perfect for the internet.

Shot over the course of four years, Movie 43 was often in and out of production to suit the schedules of its massive cast and crew. The final product boasts shorts directed by the likes of Peter Farrelly, Griffin Dunne, Bob Odenkirk, Brett Ratner and Elizabeth Banks, and features such notable names as Emma Stone, Chloe Grace Moretz, Gerard Butler, Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, and Anna Faris, just to name a few. Being stacked with stars, shorts, storytellers and plenty of raunch, it seems like this comedy will be a welcome diversion to anyone tired of award season and its high brow offerings, when Movie 43 opens January 25th, 2013.
