I guess I’m stating the obvious here, but Steven Spielberg really knows how to make sharp looking films. Maybe it’s just his massive budget, or maybe it’s because he works with screen friendly people like Tom Cruise, but next to his massively cinematic work, well most other directors look like they’re filming television commercials.

Never has that been more in evidence than in the latest trailer for War of the Worlds. As if the news day hasn’t been busy enough (Is all this sudden studio marketing somehow related to the Star Wars fever? Geek targeting?), Steven has just released the third and perhaps most stunning trailer for his world destroying opus, due out this summer. Guess what… it shows aliens. Not clearly and just in glimpses, but I definitely saw alien machines engaging in a little friendly harvesting.

Steven, this may not be the War of the Worlds movie I was looking for, but dammit I’m officially sold.
