Here’s the first clip from Marvel’s upcoming Thor movie. No surprises here, it’s a longer version of the clip you’ve already seen in the trailer, in which Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and her Scoobies (Kat Dennings, Stellan Skarsgård) discover the god of thunder just sort of lying on the ground in a big circle, out in the middle of the nowhere. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) awakens and he’s understandably confused.

If there’s one thing you should takeaway from this trailer it’s this: Apparently Thor’s hammer is self-aware. He calls for it like a lost dog. Comic book fans already knew this, but I suspect this will be something of a revelation to nearly everyone else.

Marvel’s Thor arrives in theaters May 6th. It’s the first big movie of the summer, and the first of many big tests from Marvel, in which they try to get people seeing movies about superheroes they aren’t already all that familiar with.
