Three More Unknowns Will Play Venia, Flavius And The Avox Girl In The Hunger Games![]()
I'm going to learn to never say that we're doing hearing news about The Hunger Games casting. I figured when they brought on Lenny Kravitz to play Cinna that would be the end of it, especially since production is already underway in North Carolina and every other major role has been cast. But in their ongoing efforts to turn this into a giant event movie Lionsgate continues announcing every single actor as they join the cast in even the most insignificant roles. Today we've got three casting announcements, and to give you a sense of the small potatoes we're dealing with, one of them is for a character who literally never speaks.
Thanks to the Lionsgate Twitter feed we've learned that Amber Chaney will play the aforementioned speechless character, the Avox whose tongue has been cut out as punishment and who serves Katniss in her hotel room at the Capitol before the games begin. Kimiko Gelman and Nelson Ascencio has also been added in supporting roles as two members of Katniss's prep team, Venia and Flavius, respectively. You can see all three of their photos above-- Chaney is on the far left, Ascencio in the middle, and Gelman on the right. I'm not sure how much of the shoot is taking place in North Carolina, and given that all of their characters' scenes take place indoors and at the Capitol, they might only wind up shooting on sets in L.A. The Hunger Games, as has been drilled into my head so many times by now, hits theaters on March 23 next year. |
