Sony's Smurfs movie already includes in its cast America's #1 favorite gay mascot, Neil Patrick Harris. So why not add our #2 as well? Variety reports that Project Runway's Tim Gunn will be playing a role in the film, and he won't just be making a cameo as himself-- he's playing an executive assistant at a major cosmetic company.

Set aside the completely insane notion that Tim Gunn could be anyone's executive assistant-- because, come on, he'd be running the joint and making it work within minutes. Why is a cosmetics company involved in the Smurfs movie? Does Gargamel's evil plan involve using the tiny blue creatures as test subjects/? Of course I haven't been able to figure out why the movie is filming in New York City at all, so apparently director Raja Gosnell has a lot up his sleeve that I can't quite grasp. I'm just rooting for a scene in which Gunn gently tells Smurfette how to better dress for her body type, and if he manages to talk Michael Kors into making a cameo, we'll officially have an instant camp gem on our hands. Make this work, Gosnell!
