It seems like ages ago that Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams finished fimling The Time Traveler's Wife, an adaptation of the twisty, romantic hit novel by Audrey Niffenegger. The constant delays seemed like a bad sign, but we'll finally get to see for ourselves, now that the movie has finally been given an August 14 release date.
That means that Warner Bros. is pushing the movie up from February 2010, and THR notes they'll compensate for the movie by pushing Final Destination: Death Trip 3-D back to August 28. Not that the two movies are remotely similar, but no studio wants two of their own movies opening against each other.
The Time Traveler's Wife will be a hard movie to get right, given how the book is simultaneously melodramatic and exceedingly sci-fi complicated. An August release seems like the kindest resort for this movie, given the typically low expectations for that summer month.
