Tom Cruise Tempts Gravity In Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol Featurette![]()
The Mission: Impossible films have veered all over the map when it comes to quality, but one thing you can always count on is for them to deliver crazy, over-the-top action. Opening this December, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol looks to be no exception. For his first live-action film, director Brad Bird is clearly thinking big, as demonstrated in this new behind-the-scenes featurette, which spotlights Tom Cruise dangling off the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the tallest building on the planet.
There's no telling what Cruise's Ethan Hunt is up to during this sequence, but I can't help but think there's bound to be a more efficient way to get it done. That Hunt, always showboating. Like Cruise or hate him, you have to admit that it's pretty damn impressive watching him doing these stunts himself, hanging suspended a mile and a half in the air. Then again, he does have those extra Scientology powers to help keep him aloft. With Bird at the helm and a cast that includes Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, and Ving Rhames, Ghost Protocol has the potential to be the best of the franchise yet. The movie sees the IMF team going rogue (not in the Sarah Palin way) after being false implicated in bombing the Kremlin. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol his theaters on December 21st.
