When the Tom Cruise- Cameron Diaz action adventure movie was called Wichita, it sounded odd and mysterious, like some kind of code name, or a symbolic title reminiscent of "You're in not in Kansas anymore." Wichita was ditched as the title a while ago, and now Fox has apparently settled on a new one-- Knight & Day.
THR, reporting the news, has no suggestion of why this goofy, punny title seems appropriate-- maybe those are the last names of the lead characters, or maybe Cruise's character is supposed to be a modern-day knight? Either way, it sounds like the kind of concept 30 Rock's Kenneth the Page would come up with, and I don't mean that in a good way. Has anyone out there read the script and care to explain how this title makes any sense?
