Tom Hanks Takes Over The Acropolis![]()
Tom Hanks is about to take over the Acropolis for his new movie My Life in Ruins. The movie stars My Big Fat Greek Wedding's Nia Vardalos, but Hanks and his wife Rita are producing it.
According to our friends over at M&C, Greece's Archeological Council has given the go-ahead for the Acropolis in Athens to be used as a backdrop in the film when they start shooting there next month. Authentic scenery instead of computer generated backgrounds should be refreshing. These days, it's almost a rarity for Hollywood to shoot on location. Everything ends up somewhere cheap like Vancouver, a place which as Mathew Perry pointed out last night on "Studio 60", doesn't look like anything. So it's cool to hear that Hanks might be funding a trip to Greece for some actual on location acting. How great would it be to film in the Acropolis? Now there's one set I'd really love to visit. |
