While authors often see their work absolutely decimated and destroyed by the Hollywood machine, Chuck Palahniuk continues to have a perfect batting average. Albeit only two of his novels have been adapted, Fight Club and Choke, both are seen as solid representations of Palahniuk's work (even if they do tweak a few things here or there). Risking his perfect score, a third movie is now in development based on his 2008 novel Snuff, and now the adaptation has landed its first three cast members.

Palahniuk's official site, ChuckPalahniuk.net, has revealed that Tom Sizemore, Daryl Hannah and Thora Birch are all officially attached to the project, which is being directed and co-written by Fabien Martorell. Set to be filmed as a "closed door set" (a la 12 Angry Men or Rope), the story centers on three men in a crowded basement who are awaiting their chance to have sex with aging porn star Cassie Wright, who aims to break a record by having sex with 600 men in one day. Hannah will be playing Cassie Wright; Sizemore will be playing a character known only as Mr. 600 - who also happens to be the man that introduced Cassie to the business; and Birch will play Sheila, Cassie's personal assistant.

I must say that I'm kind of amazed that this project exists. Say what you will about the content of Fight Club and Choke, but this seems like it's reaching whole new levels of depravity. Also, knowing that there's only so far that the project can go without being slapped with an NC-17 rating, will the story translate? Guess we'll just have to wait for a trailer and find out.
