Before Deja Vu the idea of Tony Scott remaking a cult classic would have sent me into epileptic spasms. But after Deja Vu, the horror of Domino is forgiven Tony and I’m ready for whatever you want to do next.
Empire says what’s next for Tony Scott is a remake of the beloved 1979 film The Warriors. Okay, maybe I'm not so ready. The original is a gritty movie about a New York street gang called The Warriors framed for the murder of a leader trying to unite all the area’s gangs. With all the other city’s gangs out for blood, the movie follows them as they try to make it back to their home turf of Coney Island alive. Scott says his version will be very different.
For starters it won’t be set in New York, but in Los Angeles. Why the change? He thinks New York is to vertical, and “L.A. is more horizontal.” He also says that The Warriors is one of his favorite movies and that he hates remakes, but he’s doing it anyway. I’ve never understood why any filmmaker would want to redo something they love. If you like the movie that much, wouldn’t you rather leave it untouched than try to replace it with a different version? Scott says he’s not doing that, he’s just reinventing it. He told Empire, “It's Kingdom Of Heaven meets The Warriors.” Has he seen Kingdom of Heaven? Doesn’t he know it’s terrible? Kingdom of Heaven shouldn’t be allowed to meet anything, let alone The Warriors.
As research, Tony Scott is out meeting with real gang leaders. So when the gangs in his film are debating the merits of Christianity versus Islam on top of a parapet, remember that this new version of The Warriors is completely realistic.

Remaking the Warriors is taking it too far. I was fine with the video game because it was a leading up to and current story. A remake or a reinventing of the Warriors is not needed. Besides there is no replacement for David Patrick Kelly as Luther
Remaking the warriors will be a big mistake....they should re-play the origional in theaters and also i agree with Concealed Says...you can't replace David Patrick Kelly as Luther...also the remake won't have the Furies...Turnbull AC's...Riffs...or the Rogues...how are you going to have the Warriors without the Rogues...and what about the most famous part of the movie???...."Warriors Come Out and Play"...how are they going to have that line without the Rogues???
Well i believe that remaking the movie is a bad idea, but also somewhat of a good idea. Ok it is a bad idea because for one thing it's in LA not in NY which is really retarded. If they don't have the gangs like what chris said then they better have some tight ass gangs or this movie would be a waste of time. Yes there is no replacement for the character luther since he kinda reminds me of the joker from the dark knight because of his chaotic, crazy side which by the way was an excellent performance. Now i think that it's somewhat of a good idea since some of the fight sequences didn't show much potential, but when it was the warriors against the punks, friggin sweet. The ending didn't show much love either and should show much action. I mean luther has a gun and swan has a friggin knife for christ sake. Luther shoots, swan dodges it easily and throws the knife and that's it. I just wanted to see if someone could improve the fights but keep the characters, gangs and storyline. So i think that we should give it a chance. If you're a warrior fan, you'll see it no matter what. If it sucks you defend it by making a complaint and make sure that this guy doesn't ruin another movie again. Warriors for life.
Man this is bullshit,im originally from Coney Island,Brooklyn New York. This guy reallly re-making the warriors in L.A.?How the fuck you do that when they from Coney Island.Like everyone said, this is a bad mistake.Re-making The warriors Movie is crap, and your having the guy the played on American Pie Stifler?Oh come on,hes way to funny to be playing in a gang movie.Mehki Phier ok maybe him,he seems like he can be the next cleon.Yall even putting Bloods and Crips in the movie? What the fuck, what do they have to do with the Originals? They need to stop this movie from coming out,if he loved the original so much why re-make the shit. The game was good because it goes from a deep background to the meeting up in the Bronx. But L.A.?Ugh stop this re-make.And For ILDBOI ill give it a chance i guess. And im a true warrior fan,But this guy shouldnt ruin this movie. It should be untouched,a true classic flim.Oh wow in the re-make they having Guns,shoot-outs,drive-bys.WHAT THE FUCK!?THE WARRIORS AND THE OTHER GANGS USE THEY HANDS,AND WEAPONS THEY CAN FIND TO FIGHT.But of course luther used a gun,but besides the point.Gangs back in the old old OLD!! Days used there fist, but Guns is a major problem in the New Warriors.Man Fuck the guy who's making the Re-make.Warriors for life!
what about the lizzies the most important and most pivitol part of the movie thats where they found out that they were being hunted omg please dont remake it please
