I have a confession to make. I love the 1980s. Sure, I was only alive for the last three years, but The Wedding Singer taught me everything that I needed to know. Socially acceptable long hair, Twisted Sister, and John Hughes? Sign me up now. Honestly, why does everyone treat the 1980s like Andrew Dice Clay? There was nothing cooler during its height, but now it’s shunned like a promiscuous, button-clad Amish girl. It’s ridiculous. Thankfully, at least one man appreciates Whitesnake as much as I do: Topher Grace.
Cinematical is reporting that Grace’s new film, set in the Madonna-dominated decade, could carry the Dazed And Confused torch into the 1980s. The movie, entitled Kids In America, will follow Grace during a wild, debaucherous Labor Day extravaganza in 1988. The former ‘That 70s Show’ actor will be joined by Anna Faris (Just Friends) and ‘O.C.’ star Chris Pratt.
I’m actually pretty excited for this. I’ve always wanted to watch drugged-out college graduates argue about Iran-Contra while listening to “Working For The Weekend” by Loverboy. It’s everything the Ronald Reagan administration would have wanted. Expect lots of psychotropic substances, Wang Chung to appear somewhere on the soundtrack, and a well deserved R rating.
