MOVIE NEWS
Topher Takes Spider-Man Rafe’s April Fools joke has come true… sort of.
Sony Pictures has just sent us confirmation that Topher Grace (formerly of “That 70’s Show”) has joined the cast of Spider-Man 3. No, he won’t be taking over for Tobey as the wallcrawler, though we did our best to start that fake rumor. Instead, he’ll be added in as some additional, as of yet unnamed character. He joins the returning cast along with Thomas Hayden Church whose role has also yet to be disclosed. However, most speculation indicates that Church will be a villain and a similar nemesis role would seem likely for Topher as well though director Sam Raimi has yet to comment. This is good news for Grace, who recently left his hit television series “The 70’s Show” to pursue a film career. He shined late last year opposite Dennis Quaid in the movie In Good Company and can be considered nothing but a great addition to the already talented Spidey 3 cast. Let’s hope it’s not a bit role, Topher has talent. |
