Toy Story 3 Turns James Bond Into Mr. Pricklepants![]()
The Toy Story franchise doesn’t need big names to get by. Heck, if they could find decent enough voice actors to mimic Tim Allen and Tom Hanks, most people would probably still be on board. That’s what happens with quality animation: it outlives its makers. Even so, Pixar has been picking up decent actors left and right to play new characters in the next sequel. First there was Ned Beatty, then Michael Keaton. Now Toy Story 3 has added 007.
According to JoBlo, Timothy Dalton has signed on to play the role of Mr. Pricklepants, “a thespian hedgehog toy.” The opportunities for comedy are endless. It’s not yet known what role the character will play in the film, but plot details are slowly starting to unravel. Apparently the movie will follow Woody, Buzz and the gang as they encounter some pesky toddlers at a day care center after being thrown out by Andy’s mom. Sounds like it’ll further my hatred for ignorant moms who don’t know how much things are worth sentimentally even though she knows you liked the Ninja Turtles so much and – never mind. Anyway, it sounds as though Pixar is going to have another huge hit on their hands, maybe even the biggest in their history, maybe animation’s history. And although I was skeptical about a third Toy Story movie, after Up, it’s hard to question anything Pixar does. Maybe this is a huge conspiracy to form a Pixar-led communist nation made up of their millions of loyal fans. If so, I’m in. |
