One of the best jokes in the infinitely funny first season of 30 Rock was a throwaway, in which Tracy Morgan's character actually made money from one of those e-mail scams, where someone claiming to be a Nigerian prince asks you to give them money to help them out of the country.

Apparently Morgan thought the joke was so funny he's turning it into an entire movie. Variety reports that Morgan will star in and produce the comedy Freshman Roommates, in which he plays an actual Nigerian prince who gets bailed out by a college freshman who answers one of the scam e-mails in a drunken stupor.

The notion of Tracy Morgan playing a Nigerian prince is a little Eddie Murphy for my taste, but the concept is hilarious. If this is the beginning of a trend of movies based on 30 Rock jokes, I'll be anxiously awaiting Werewolf Bar Mitzvah, not to mention The Rural Juror and its sequel, Urban Fervor.
