LIsten, I know it's kind of beside the point to complain about Alvin & the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel. We all know no one over the age of 10 wants this movie to exist (except those who are in it, I guess), and many of us know that we'll wind up seeing it anyway to entertain whatever child has been put in our care this holiday season. It's a fact of life. Move on.

But having seen the new trailer for the movie, having premiered at MTV Movies Blog, I'm still kind of aghast. First of all, the chipmunks still look creepy. Second of all, there's still no reason for them to be voiced by name actors (Justin Long, Jesse McCartney and Matthew Gray Gubler). And third, the Chipettes don't get a single line? Really?

You can watch it below, though it's really not much of a trailer. Presumably we'll be seeing more footage soon, and the outrage will begin anew.
