Trailer Brings You Questions About Time Travel![]()
Ever wonder what the rules for time travel really are? I enjoy a good time travel story, as I’ve reported on time and time again here (no pun intended) but I tend to take an Austin Powers approach a lot of the time, cutting stories a lot of leeway in the interest of entertainment. Several blokes from England aren’t taking the same approach, however, as they put together Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel.
The movie is actually a comedy about three geeks (two geeks and a cynic, reads the movie’s official website) who settle down in their favorite pub for what should be a relatively normal evening when they find themselves encountering time leaks, a woman from the future, and more. Comedy ensues as the guys have to avoid alternate time versions of themselves, keep from ruining the timeline, and face all the problems that usually plague time travel stories, while questioning those stereotypical rules through the course of the story. The first pull-quote in the new trailer that’s arrived online sums up exactly what I think the creators were going for (especially since it’s the first critic quote they use) - “Dr [sic] Who Meets Shaun of the Dead.” There’s a definite Shaun of the Dead vibe to the movie, with the central plot taking place in an almost familiar looking pub. Below is an embedded version of the movie’s trailer, courtesy of IGN.com. You should also check out the official movie site for more information about the movie… although oddly they don’t have their own trailer there yet. |
