John Cusack is getting great reviews from Sundance for his work in the film Grace is Gone. Word is that for once, he’s not playing John Cusack in the film. Not that there’s anything wrong with playing John Cusack, he does it better than just about anyone. In fact he gets right back to playing Cusack in his next film, a horror movie called 1408.
The first trailer for 1408 is here, and it’s eight kinds of cool. I have a reputation for being pretty critical of the horror genre, so much of it is so bad that it’s hard to sort out the few gems from all the garbage floating out there around in it. But this looks like it might be one of the gems. Cusack plays a skeptic trying to find evidence of the paranormal. Right when he’s about to give up… he finds more evidence than he wants in a hotel run by Samuel L. Jackson.
You’ll have to watch the trailer to do it justice. Check it out by clicking here.
